A new scam practice is materializing at the Okada Manila casino resort, where unscrupulous people are taking advantage of the good faith of some vacationers and selling bogus stays.

To avoid these scammers, the Okada Manila warned this week that
“certain people are selling, reselling or offering packages of hotel rooms in Okada Manila through online platforms or social media channels without our authorization.”
In the statement, the casino hotel did not mention any specific website or agency, but warned that it will not accept any fraudulent packages sold to travelers.
“We advise the public that they can reserve rooms through the Okada Manila reservation system or reputable reservation platforms,” it said.
The resort owned by Tiger Resort Leisure and Gaming and its parent, Universal Entertainment Corp., reopened its facilities in october after being closed due to the coronavirus pandemic. In september it was authorized to operate at 30% of its capacity, but later it expanded its capacity until it was operating normally.
The Philippines has been subjected to long quarantine periods to prevent a further spread of COVID-19. Perhaps this is why some people have forgotten to take precautions when purchasing goods and services.
In addition to hotel stays, there are other services that they are offering through fake channels. Perfumes and scents that are reportedly being counterfeited are also offered at Okada Manila for sale in consumer markets.

“The scent of the hotel we use is made exclusively for Okada Manila and is not sold to the general public,” the company clarified.
“Use of the Okada Manila trademark and trademarks for commerce without our authority or consent constitutes trademark infringement under the law. We will take the necessary legal action against violators,” it added.
